Today marks Founder to Founder (F2F)’s 1-year anniversary. It’s been a great year to start a newsletter, and I’m very happy to have you all as my audience.
I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished in F2F’s first year; I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
Free subscriber housekeeping items:
Updating F2F Advertising: Right now, the welcome email you get after signing up indicates that for free subscribers only get 1 Startup Spotlight post per week. This is incorrect as I’ve been posting 3X Startup Spotlight articles per week for some time now. I will be changing both the language and advertising to reflect this tomorrow morning (10/23).
Startup Job List: This is still in progress, but the list should be launched by November 2nd at the latest. I’m working still on contacting all of the founders I’ve profiled on F2F whether or not they want to advertise their open roles here.
Scaling up to 5X per week: Being upfront here - I’m getting so much demand for founders to be profiled in a Startup Spotlight that I have been considering publishing every weekday (that is, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). I am very sensitive to the fact that this might be too much content coming in your inbox per week, so I will not make a decision on increasing the publishing rate until 2021.
To be clear, for the rest of 2020, there will only be three Startup Spotlights per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). I will make a final decision at the beginning of January 2021 to increase the frequency of publishing or not. I will only increase to 5x per week if I can guarantee that every startup profiled in a Startup Spotlight is high-quality and thus worth your time to read about. If you have any thoughts on this, please feel free to share in a comment on this thread, or at astoryforsoda@gmail.com!
Paid subscriber housekeeping items:
Startup Job List: In addition to the above for free subscribers, I’m working on guaranteeing that if you’re interested in a role at a founder’s company who’s done a Case Study with me, you can be directly introduced to them via email. This is only for founders who have participated in a Case Study.
Seeking Feedback: I’ll be spending the next two months focusing only on increasing the quality of the Case Studies. If you’re interested in participating in 1-on-1, 15-minute bi-weekly feedback sessions, please comment here or email me at astoryforsoda@gmail.com. I’ll only be asking you two questions:
What did you really like about the Case Study?
What was missing from the Case Study that would make it better for you?
Establishing F2F Community Slack: This a major goal for 2021 for paid subscribers only. I can’t speak too much on this as I’m trying to figure out what it will look like in the early stage, but if you’re interested in being apart of my initial brainstorming sessions, hit me up at my email address.
Thank you for being a loyal reader. I can’t wait to share more stories on founders building great things with you!
