It’s been a minute since I sent out an update. 2022 has been an interesting year for me. I’ve learned a lot about myself and where I want to go in the future as a founder and creator.
I’ve commonly said that F2F will be the foundation from which I create different types of content, but it’s been a matter of figuring out the specific details.
I finally have an answer for that. I’m not going to go into full detail here, but I will share the overall strategy and the key tactic that will drive my vision from now on.
After three years of working on F2F, time has finally yielded what F2F should become. I want F2F to be the one-stop community for information on startups in written, oral, and visual mediums.
How will I get there? Through writing and producing original content.
Yes, instead of only facilitating and publishing my email-based interviews for the Case Studies and Startup Spotlights, I will be writing unique, exclusive pieces for paid F2F subscribers only.
What will I be writing about, you ask? I will be writing short-form articles about topics founders want to discuss, of course! I already have plenty of ideas buzzing in my head, courtesy of all the conversations I’ve had with founders and early-stage employees over the years and more recently.
Some of the topics include, but are not limited to:
Founder mental health
Fundraising psychology; understanding and exploiting VC FOMO
Founder’s strategies for managing their teams
Cultivating and curing a vibrant early-stage startup culture
B2B (and B2C) Sales Processes
What will I produce? I have currently been exploring a potential podcast series. I already filmed a pilot episode a few weeks ago, which is now going through the post-production process. There’s still a lot to be figured out on my end; thus, I won’t speak on this more for now.
However, here’s a sneak peek of your boy in the pod:
I’m excited to get these initiatives underway. Before I get into the details of when this new content will come out, I want to address more immediate changes to the newsletter.
For free subscribers, Startup Spotlights will only come out bi-weekly instead of every other week.
For paid Subscribers, the Case Studies will continue to come out on a bi-weekly schedule. There will also be an updated version of the Case Studies in less than two weeks’ time. I will describe the changes more in a follow-up post come Monday.
In addition, the new short-form articles will be for paid subscribers only. These short-form articles will come out bi-weekly too, but on the weeks when a Case Study is not published. Essentially, paid subscribers will receive content from me once a week, every week, that will alternate between a Case Study and a short-form article.
To summarize these changes:
Free subscribers: Startup Spotlights are published bi-weekly instead of once a week. You get two pieces of content per month.
Paid subscribers: Case Studies (v4) published bi-weekly, Short-form articles are published on an alternate bi-weekly schedule. You get four pieces of content per month.
The reason for these changes is to protect and promote the newsletter's longevity and improve the value proposition for paid subscribers. The truth is that I’ve been producing too much free content, given the time it takes, and I want to spend more time producing unique content for those who are paying.
When do these changes take effect?
The changes for Free Subscribers take place as of the publishing date of this post.
For paid Subscribers, the new Case Studies will come out two Mondays from now. The short-form articles will be published starting January 2023.
I’m truly excited for this next step with Founder to Founder! Thank you to everyone who’s subscribed and stuck by me for this long. I truly believe that these changes and my vision going forward are necessary to realize this newsletter’s potential and the community that has come together because of it.
So proud of you!!!
Eagerly waiting for the podcast
Coming soon! :)
