Startup Spotlight: OfficeTogether
Problem: 72% of employees want a combination of in-person and remote work. But workplaces are not equipped with the right tech stack to effectively support a productive and collaborative hybrid workplace.
Market: With over 100B sq. ft. of office space in the U.S. and the average employee requiring ~150 sq. ft., the market is massive.
Solution: Hybrid is the winning workplace strategy, and we’re building the hybrid tech stack to support the modern office.
Team: OfficeTogether, a globally dispersed team, collectively brings decades of experience from established firms like Google, Meta, and Coinbase and high-growth D2C, SaaS, and dual-market startups.
Recent Success:
Yin: We have an agile engineering team that can build for and adapts the product to the evolving needs of the hybrid workplace. When we started building the product, it was all about COVID compliance. But our customer needs quickly shifted to the employee experience. And now, we’re actively building features to make in-person work engaging again.
Recent Struggle:
Yin: With every new COVID variant or policy change, we experienced a shift in how receptive the market was to in-person work and investing long-term in the hybrid office. This can make it challenging to predict your sales cycle. But, research and evidence support our hypothesis that the hybrid workplace is the future of how we work. We’re in it for the long haul, adapting our internal processes to support our growth journey better.
Founder Advice:
Yin: We’ve been in a bull market for the last 14 years, and now, for the first time for many knowledge workers, we’re entering a bear market – and we are all unprepared. The rule used to be growth at all costs. But that’s no longer the mantra. Entrepreneurs and leaders need to tighten up budgets and plan smartly as we head into a potential recession.
