Latest F2F Case Study - Case Study: ElectroNeek Was Able To Find And Deepen Their Product-Market Fit Through Choosing The Right Customer Segment To Develop For
I got the chance to speak with Bruno Bannach, co-founder and CEO of Jestor, about what he’s working on at his startup, and any advice he has for emerging entrepreneurs.
He and his cofounder, Guilherme Pinheiro, previously built a consulting company together helping businesses to create their own internal applications using enterprise systems or building it from scratch. That's when they first noticed how hard it was for the operations staff to get the engineering resources they needed to make even small changes to these applications. They knew that they could learn to use tools to build their own applications if they existed, so they sold our consulting business and started Jestor to help companies’ operations teams do just that.

Startup Spotlight: Jestor
Problem: Companies with operations teams believe the only way to get the right operations software is to either pay for expensive enterprise solutions or to hire engineers and make them build internal software.
Market: We're starting with startups like healthtech, proptechs, and foodtechs. The TAM for this market is $11.3Bn/yr. However, it can be used by any company, from a bakery to a Fortune 500, so our actual TAM is at least 100x larger than the startup market.
Solution: Jestor is a no-code tool for companies that need to scale their operations fast. For example, Loft, a unicorn startup, uses Jestor to allow their operations team to build their own internal apps, instead of relying on engineers.
Team: Bruno Bannach is the CEO and co-founder of Jestor and Guilherme Pinheiro is the CTO and co-founder ofJestor.
Recent Success:
Bannach: We've been really successful in building products and iterating fast. We have a great team of highly capable and curious people. It makes the pace of innovation fast. It has been helpful for us to adjust to our customers’ feedback, helping us build something people want.
Recent Struggle:
Bannach: In the beginning, we were trying to build a tool that suited everybody in every industry. This turned out to be very unfocused: we couldn’t target any specific audience, so we wound up building a tool that suited nobody in any industry. That's one of the hardest things about building software that builds software. You can actually help everyone, but you need to go step by step. At that point, it was hard to even communicate to clients what Jestor did and how it could generate value. It was only when we narrowed our focus on the operation that both the direction for the product and the communication with clients became much easier.
Founder Advice:
Bannach: Focus. Build for the clients that love your product and move away from clients for whom you would be just a “nice to have”. They are the most dangerous way to lose focus, because they pay you, but they don't really care. So don't try to sell to clients that do not have the problem you want to solve for them.
Three Cool Founders You Should Know About:
Bannach: Here are three founders you should check out next!
